Bow types explained
The bow is the curve along the stick. How deep it is and where the deepest point sits changes how the stick plays.
The rules allow a bow of up to 25 mm, and the deepest point can be no closer than 200 mm to the bottom of the stick.
| Bow | What it helps with | Often suits |
|---|---|---|
| Standard or mid bow | All-round control, passing and hitting | Beginners, juniors and defenders |
| Low bow (incl. pro bow) | Lifting the ball, aerials and 3D skills | Midfielders and attackers |
| Extreme low or late bow | Drag flicks and advanced 3D skills | Attackers and drag flickers |
Brands use their own names, such as Grays "Ultrabow" or "Dynabow". On Stick Finder SA we group these with mid bows when the brand describes them that way. Where a shop doesn't state the bow, we say so and leave the stick out of the position filter.
